This event aims to promote the experiences and achievements of first-generation students across the nation. First-Generation College Celebration (FGCC) began in 2017 and is held every year on November 8th to mark the anniversary of the Higher Education Act (HEA), which was established to strengthen educational resources and provide greater financial assistance. UC’s Gen-1 program brought this celebration to UC, and we look forward to recognizing the accomplishments of our first-gen Bearcats. Visit the Graduate College First-Generation College Celebration page to read words of encouragement from UC First-Generation Graduate Students.
