Electronic Thesis and Dissertation Submission Correction

ETD Correction Form

If an author (student or alumni) needs to update/change part(s) of their ETD after it has been approved by the Graduate College and after graduation, then a form on Bearcats Landing must be completed by the chair or Program Director at UC. Two required documents must be uploaded by the chair or program director when submitting the ETD Correction Form: 

  • the original ETD with track changes 
  • the revised version

These documents must be prepared by the author prior reaching out to the chair or program director. Form submissions from ETD authors (students or alumni) will not be accepted. 

Once the form has been reviewed and approved by the Graduate College, an email will be sent to the author, chair, and/or program director. The email will include information regarding the approval, as well as details about any fee processes that may be required to upload the revised version to ProQuest. Completion and approval of this form updates the document in OhioLINK.

Process

If the Chair is available and at UC:

  • The ETD author must communicate with the Chair about the changes, and the Chair must review the proposed changes.

  • After the Chair’s approval, the Chair must submit the ETD Correction Form. As part of submitting the form, the Chair uploads the two required documents. 

If the Chair is no longer at UC:

  • The ETD author must facilitate communication between the Program Director, Chair, and themselves to ensure the Chair's approval of the proposed changes.

  • Once approval is obtained from the Chair, the Program Director can proceed with a review and either approve or deny the changes. Guidelines for Program Directors in this situation are provided on Bearcats Landing. If approved, the Program Director submits the form, which includes uploading the required documents.

If the Chair is deceased:

  • The ETD author should reach out to the Program Director for review and approval of the changes to the ETD.

  • The Program Director will review the proposed changes and decide on whether to approve or deny. Guidelines for Program Directors in this situation are provided on Bearcats Landing. If approved, the Program Director submits the form, which includes uploading the required documents.
