Whether you are a first-time graduate, graduate student, parent or UC faculty member joining in the celebration, this will be a memorable day for you. Find details and information on the Commencement website.

Participating at the ceremony is optional. If you are not planning to attend, you still need to apply for graduation by the deadline if you would like to earn your degree and/or graduate certificate by the end of the term.

The university will host the Summer 2026 Commencement ceremonies on August 7. More information can be found on the Commencement website. 

Any graduating student may purchase regalia, regardless of their ceremony participation. 

Doctoral students participating at the ceremony are only permitted to wear the red regalia. Doctoral students interested in standard-quality doctoral regalia can order through Jostens or Balfour. Regalia through Jostens is available to purchase online and UC Bookstore.

• The last day to order standard-quality regalia through Jostens is June 30 by 5 p.m. We strongly recommend ordering or purchasing your regalia as early as possible to avoid last-minute delays. • Students can save 25% off a frame when it is purchased with standard- quality regalia through the Graduation Package.
