Frequently Asked Questions (Graduate Students)

The Bearcats Everywhere Scholarship is a one-time tuition scholarship award for international students that is equivalent to the non-resident surcharge for Fall Semester 2020. Non-resident surcharge rates for graduate/professional students vary by program.
 

Eligibility

The Bearcats Everywhere Scholarship is for international students:

  • Undergraduate and Graduate
  • Incoming or current students at Uptown (main) Campus, UC Blue Ash Campus, or UC Clermont Campus
  • Unable to come to the U.S. this Fall Semester 2020
  • Received less scholarship awards than the non-resident surcharge rate

No. Citizenship is not required. 

Incoming Graduate Students

  • Unable to come to the U.S. this Fall Semester 2020
  • Awarded less UC scholarship awards per year than the non-resident surcharge rate
  • Check with your program for any program requirements (for example, a mandatory virtual orientation or registration in required courses)
  • Submit Bearcats Everywhere Scholarship application: The application must be completed in advance of the due date for your bill.

Current Graduate Students

  • Unable to come to the U.S. this Fall Semester 2020
  • Awarded less UC scholarship awards per year than the non-resident surcharge rate
  • Register for Fall Semester 2020 classes
  • Submit Bearcats Everywhere Scholarship application: The application must be completed in advance of the due date for your bill.

No. Only international students who meet the requirements listed above are eligible. 

As the Bearcats Everywhere scholarship is a one-time scholarship, there is no renewal, and thus no requirements as the scholarship cannot be "maintained." This one-time award will only be placed on a student bill if they meet the requirements listed above.

The amount awarded to you is dependent on the amount of UC scholarship awards you have received for Fall 2020. If your awarded scholarships already cover the non-resident surcharge, you will not receive a Bearcats Everywhere Scholarship.

Application Process

Yes. You are required to submit the Bearcats Everywhere Scholarship application. The application is available via UC’s scholarship search website, ScholarshipUniverse. Your application must be completed in advance of the due date for your bill. 

The application is available at UC’s scholarship search website, ScholarshipUniverse. Log into the system using your UC username and password. If this is your first time using the system, you will have to set up your profile by answering some questions. If you do not see the scholarship listed in your matches, search the site for “Bearcats Everywhere Scholarship.” Your application must be completed in advance of the due date for your bill.

Please note: Students that meet the scholarship requirements to receive the award will be notified by UC email within 10 days of submitting the application.

Financial Aid Questions

No. The Bearcats Everywhere Scholarship does not replace any UC scholarship award. The Bearcats Everywhere Scholarship in addition to all awarded scholarships will cover the non-residential surcharge for Fall Semester 2020. 

No. If you received UC scholarship awards, they will be applied to your Fall Semester 2020 bill.
